Professor Jun Dong was invited to attend “China-Japan Workshop on Advanced Ceramic Lasers and Its Applications for Huge Facility” held in Laboratory for Laser Plasmas, Department of Physics, Shanghai Jiaotong University, on May 26, 2012. The workshop was hosted by Laboratory for Laser Plasmas, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanism, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Experts and scholars on ceramics laser technology and materials such as Prof. Ken-ichi Ueda from Institute for Laser Science, University of Electro-Communications, Dr. Jianren Lu from Yokogawa Electric, Japan, Prof. Deyuan Shen from Fudan University, Prof. Jun Dong from Xiamen University and Prof. Jianlang Li from SIOM were invited to discuss the future development and applications of laser ceramics. Prof. Jun Dong gave a invited talk on “All-solid-state high peak power Yb:YAG/Cr4+:YAG microchip lasers” in the workshop.
